GHK-Cu
Also known as: Copper Peptide GHK-Cu
Overview
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper peptide found in human plasma, urine, and saliva. It has been extensively studied for its remarkable effects on skin regeneration, wound healing, and anti-ageing. Concentrations decline significantly with age, which may contribute to reduced healing capacity.
How it works
Binds copper ions and transports them to cells, activating numerous biological processes. Stimulates collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycan synthesis. Activates antioxidant and anti-inflammatory responses. Promotes stem cell recruitment to injury sites. Modulates over 4,000 human genes including those involved in inflammation and tissue remodelling.
Primary uses
- Skin regeneration and anti-ageing
- Wound healing
- Hair follicle stimulation
- Collagen synthesis
- Anti-inflammatory
- Antioxidant
What to expect
Based on reported user experiences and available research, here is a general timeline of effects:
Days 1–14
- Skin hydration and texture improvements are often noticeable within the first two weeks
- Wound healing acceleration begins immediately
- Collagen synthesis upregulation is underway
Days 14–56
- Skin elasticity improvements are measurable around 4-6 weeks
- Hair follicle stimulation is active with consistent use
- Anti-inflammatory gene expression is well modulated by this stage
Days 56–999
- Significant anti-ageing skin benefits are typically visible at 2+ months
- Over 4000 gene expression changes are accumulating with sustained use
- Collagen and elastin density improvements are established
Storage and preparation
Store lyophilised at -20°C. Once reconstituted, store at 4°C and use within 30 days. Sensitive to oxidation — minimise air exposure after reconstitution.
Reconstitute with sterile water or bacteriostatic water. For topical use reconstitute to desired concentration in saline or a carrier solution. For subcutaneous: 50mg vial with 5ml BAC water gives 10mg/ml.
