Desmopressin

Overview
Desmopressin is a synthetic analogue of vasopressin used medically for central diabetes insipidus, nocturnal enuresis, nocturia, and some bleeding disorders. It is a clinically established peptide analogue with strong antidiuretic activity.
How it works
Acts primarily as a V2 receptor agonist in the kidney, increasing aquaporin-2 insertion in collecting ducts and enhancing water reabsorption. It can also increase plasma levels of von Willebrand factor and factor VIII, explaining its role in selected bleeding disorders.

Storage and preparation
